" Z : A NOVEL OF ZELDA FITZGERALD " by Therese Anne Fowler

Having been away from blogging a long time, this post is to tell everyone that I am back. However I have been reading away :)

I am presently reading " Z " and am 1/4 into this novel/autobiography and have nothing but admiration for Miss Fowler's prose and character development!

" Z " is a timely read, the movie "THE GREAT GATSBY" will soon be showing, the cast is superb as is the story. Here are a couple of pics I like:

  1. I recently watched the black&white version of "the great gatsby" with alan ladd - quite a good version as a matter of fact - no glams but good costuming

  2. So glad to see you back, Madeleine! I just saw The Great Gatsby last Sunday, and although I was nervous that I would like it I found out that I did. Very much. I was moved by Gatsby's unrequited love for Daisy, the way the superficiality of the times was conveyed (much like I find ours today), and the costuming was gorgeous. So, thanks for posting these pictures to remind me of how much I liked the film.

  3. Hi niki, I have not seen the movie as of yet, but like you liked the older version.
Nice to hear from you, I think of you often. Will visit your website and say hello.

    1. so nice of you to be "visiting" my blog - I come here from time to time without leaving a comment, but it's nice to have some new reading ideas - however I have a really monstruous TBR, so for the time being I've put the blog on a long pause - but as arnold used to say "I'll be back"
      take care ;)

  4. Hi Meredith, as I wrote to niki I have not seen this version as of yet. I live practically in the woods :) really, it is a sort of island. Because of this I usually wait for the release of the movie on dvd. Good to be back.
